Weebly for Education Selecting this option will allow you to create an extensive class website using the free service offered by Weebly.com Navigate to https://education.weebly.com/ Click on the Features link in the top navigation bar to view the wide range of features offered by the Weebly for Education service. Click on the Featured Site down at the bottom of the Weebly for Education homepage to see how educators are using the service. Click on Support link in the top navigation bar and open the Getting Started for detailed information on how to create your site. The Support Center offers extensive tutorials which will be useful as you work on your site. Note: The Weebly for Education website development and hosting service is offered free of charge to educators. An upgraded Pro account is available for educators who want or need additional features for a modest monthly subscription fee. The free account will provide all of the features you need to meet the course requirements. If you decide that the Weebly for Education service looks like something that you would like to try, click on the Get started here or Sign Up links on any of the pages to begin creating your website. Follow the step-by-step instructions to create your Weebly site. Record the username and password you select for the site as you will need it every time you edit your Weebly site. Create your website and customize to meet your specific needs. Be sure to include active hyperlinks to several of the age-appropriate and educationally relevant web resources that you have found while working on the second module of the course. Those clickable hyperlinks are, in my opinion, one of the primary reasons for having a classroom website. It is so much safer to have students start their online explorations with a clickable link to websites that have been previewed and selected by the teacher than to just turn them loose with a search engine or a complicated web address that has to be entered into the browser location bar.
